| Description | Mrs Violetta Price, taken outside her May Fair show in Commercial Road. Mrs Price came from a family with a long history in the fairground and circus businesses, and together with her husband, Tom, ran a variety of shows that travelled the length and breadth of Britain in the post-war years. After her husband's death in the mid-1950s, Mrs Price continued running the family business, attending such fairs as Hereford, Nottingham Goose Fair and Stratford Mop. She died in her eighties around 1964. |
