---|---|
Description | Black and white photograph showing George Cox and his employee Albert Wood putting the doors on a traveller caravan. Mr Cox is reported to have been the only man in Britain still making traditional caravans in the 1960s. He worked into the eighties and lived to be over 100. This particular model was scheduled to wander the lanes of Somerset. He would not name his customer or the price: 'The gipsies [sic] don't like that sort of thing'. This appeared in the Birmingham Post on June 20th 1960 |
