Title A Sister from the Carmelite Order researching plumbing.
Description Black and white photo. This Sister of the Carmelite Order is intently studying a plumbing manual. A letter to The Catholic Herald of December 1953, said: “Sir. There is no need to go farther than the borders of Radnorshire to see Carmelite nuns as builders. At Presteigne, five Carmelites (whose ages range from 25 to 57 years) even make their own concrete blocks (using these instead of bricks to cut down expense) as they build their choir and church.” 1970.
