The Master ( Mr. Griffiths ) reported that at the last meeting of the Board the number of inmates was 40 , there had been admitted dur- ing the fortnight 4 , born 1 , discharged 2 , now in the House 43 , corresponding period last year 44 , decrease 1. Vagrants admitted 28 , corresponding period last year 39 , decrease 11 . The Master acknowledged gifts of illustrated papers for the inmates from Mrs. James Mere- dith , Mrs. H. J. Oliver and Mr. G. writing from Malvern to a contemporary , points out that during the last few months many bodies of school managers in those coun- ties have arranged for 2d . dinners for children .
