Black and white head and shoulder studio photograph of Mr William James Fey wearing his Great Western Railway Company uniform. He was the stationmaster at Ross Railway Station from 1921 to 1925, retiring in August 1925 after nearly 48 years service. This photograph is featured in the Ross Gazette published on October 8, 1925 The accompanying newspaper article is headed "A PARTING GIFT ...An Interesting Function At Ross Station". His retirement function was held at Ross Railway Station where the Archdeacon of Hereford presented him with a marble clock. After he retired, Mr Fey moved back to the city where he was born, Plymouth. He died in 1960 aged ninety-six. |
