Description |
Black and white photograph of a building with a predominantly glass and panel facade. There are tools, buckets and planks of wood scattered around suggesting building work is still in progress. The article is headed "SCHOOL THAT STARTED IN STABLE LOFT TO HAVE £72,000 BUILDING". The building is a newly built school in the village of St. Weonards. The old school's accommodation had become inadequate to cope with the increasing pupil numbers. Being sited on a gradient meant it could not be extended and they had had to resort to taking some lessons in the village hall. The new school opened to pupils in September 1974. |
