Transcription Um, I can only remember once. That a German plane came down at the top.

I know we, someone said, oh, well, the boys it was.

First of all, you girls, you come in, yeah, get up, you see it, or we went. And when we get to that, it's And halfway up the drive, because it was at the at the end there, it's that we went up. And by that time we'd picked up another what, 10 boys that were saying, where are you going, we are, we're going as well, because we get there.

It has come down.

On the man. The German, he stood there. And it was quite queer and everyone said.

Uh, well, he hasn't said anything. So we keep saying things and then I found out that he could speak in English a little. Yes. And thank you very much, he said. Uh, Brought with them, so he was given that.

Yes. It took another.

3/4 of an hour. For 2 men to come out from Ledbury.

Presumably to arrest him.

Well, I assume that's what they did, but I mean, we were there having a right old chat. And I said to them, we can't let you go back.

No, we, I realise that. He said this, or we, you know, having this, and I think of it now and I, and it was such a lovely day as well, you know, and it was um, And, and I, well, I want my home and presumably he wasn't hurt at all. Hang on a second. No, got a plane going. Presumably he wasn't hurt.

Oh no, he was a bit shaken, um, but it was something that had gone wrong with this plane, you say, it was one of the smaller planes. Um, I can even cut, it was a brownie colour, actual fact. Um, but he was. Very, very You know, uh, we keep saying, well, they're like us. Yeah. You see. And of course, being boys and girls, you talk about it quite loud, you know, excitement and it was real excitement.

And we keep thinking, well, what are we supposed to do with him? No. But we didn't mind because we said we, you'll have to come with us.

So it was a bit young for the responsibility, but we used to seem to get into those cars.
